Prince George's County Infants & Toddlers Program
Welcome to the Infants & Toddlers Program
The early years of a child's life are very important. During the infant and toddler years, children grow quickly and have so much to learn. Some children and families face special challenges and need extra help. Early help does make a difference!
We naturally think of a child's growth as height and weight, but from birth to 5 years, your child should reach milestones in how he plays, learns, speaks and acts. A delay in any of these areas could be a sign of a developmental problem. The good news is, the earlier it’s recognized the more you can do to help your child reach her full potential.
Our services can help you and your family:
- Learn the best ways to care for your child.
- Support and promote your child's development.
- Include your child in your family and community life.
As a parent, you are a valued partner.
You are the most important person in your child's life. You know your child best. You understand your child's needs, and what is helpful and what is not. You have the most information about – and responsibility for – your child's growth and development.
Act early!
